Anthony Kim wins 10th 2008 PGA Tour event for Nike Golf

Nike athletes have won more than 30 per cent of PGA Tour events in 2008

TORONTO (July 7, 2008)—Anthony Kim fired a five-under 65 to come from behind and win the AT&T National on Sunday,
bringing Nike Golf to a total of 10 PGA Tour victories in 2008.

With Kim’s victory—his second this season in five starts—Nike Golf athletes have won four out of the last five PGA Tour events. With 29 PGA Tour events in the books in 2008, six different Nike Golf athletes have won more than 30 per cent of all events this season.

Kim’s victory in fellow Nike Golf athlete Tiger Woods’ event followed three straight wins for Nike by Justin Leonard (Stanford St. Jude Championship), Woods (U.S. Open) and Stewart Cink (Travelers Championship). Nike Golf also is two-for-two in major championships with Trevor Immelman’s victory at the Masters and Tiger Woods’ victory in the U.S. Open.

With a successful Tour staff playing with the most innovative products, Nike Golf continues to lead the PGA Tour in driver, iron, fairway woods and wedge wins.   The combination of the SQ family of drivers and Nike ONE Ball is the winningest combination on Tour.

Kim’s victory brings the number of victories by Nike Golf athletes on the world’s leading tours to 15 in 2008 (five international and 10 on the PGA Tour).

With his two-shot victory, Kim, 23, became the first American under 25 to win twice in one year on the PGA Tour since Tiger Woods.

In just his second year on the PGA Tour, Kim already is ranked 10th on the PGA Tour World Golf Ranking, second in scoring average at 69.55, and he is currently ranked fifth on this year’s money list. Kim joins Woods among Nike Golf’s multiple winners this year with two and four wins, respectively.

Kim, who won the Wachovia Championship in May, started the final round three shots out of the lead, but made three birdies on holes 7-10 en route to a 5-under 65 for the victory. The win moved Kim to No. 6 in the Ryder Cup standings.

With the combination of his Nike SQ SUMO 5000 Tour driver and Nike ONE Platinum ball, Kim was eighth in driving distance, averaging 305.8 yards.
