Canadian golfers can attack any course eight different ways with new SQ DYMO STR8-FIT driver

TORONTO (April 2, 2009)-This Saturday is DYMO Day in Canada-the long awaited opportunity for Canadian golfers to demo the SQ DYMO STR8-FIT driver featuring the eight-ways-to-straight technology that Trevor Immelman used to win last year's Masters.

The new SQ DYMO STR8-FIT driver will make its debut in stores during the day-long special promotion at retailers across the country.

Named Golf Digest's most innovative new driver of 2009, the STR8-FIT is easily adjustable to eight different head positions from open to closed, allowing golfers to perfect their ball flight.

Participating Canadian stores such as Golf Town and Nevada Bob's, as well as select independent retailers and golf course golf shops, will feature special displays and in-store promotional materials.

Nike staff will be at major stores across the country to answer questions and help outfit golfers with the right STR8-FIT driver for them.

Win a private lesson with Anthony Kim and Stephen Ames

By logging on www.nikegolf.ca, golfers who attend DYMO Day at a retailer have an opportunity to win a private lesson with Anthony Kim, Stephen Ames, Sean Foley and Dr. Craig Davies at the 2009 RBC Canadian Open, as well as golf, tournaments tickets, airfare and accommodations.

Additional prizes include SQ DYMO drivers, Victory Red irons, Nike footwear and other Nike Golf equipment.

"The incredible technology that allows golfers to customize their head position is a master-stroke of ingenuity that underscores how Nike Golf's R&D team led by Tom Stites in Fort Worth, Texas is leading the industry in innovation," said Vitalis Gomes, Director of Marketing for Nike Golf Canada.

"Like touring professionals, amateur golfers now have the ability with STR8-FIT to adjust their driver to suit their game and the course. The SQ DYMO STR8-FIT offers golfers the best advantage for distance, accuracy and adjustability."

The buzz has been building around the STR8-FIT since April 2008 when Trevor Immelman won the Masters using a prototype of the state-of-the-art driver. Also winning with STR8-FIT were Nike athletes K.J. Choi, who was the first to win with it in January 2008 at the Sony Open, and Anthony Kim, who won the Wachovia Championship and the AT&T Classic. This season, Nike Golf's Justin Leonard has also put the STR8-FIT driver into play.

Easy adjustability

The STR8-FIT has an adaptor built into the hosel that allows for unprecedented adjustability with a unique wrench that enables golfers to make easy adjustments based on their ball flight needs for optimized launch condition and spin through loft.

Along with the SQ DYMO STR8-FIT's Dynamic Moment of Inertia (MOI) technology, golfers can change head position and lie angle to set up eight different ways for shape and for straight with the same driver.

For example, if golfers are slicing, pushing or fading and they wish to draw the ball or hit more to the left, they can change the position of the clubface to a more closed position. If golfers are hooking, pulling or drawing the ball more than they wish, they can manually change the clubface to a more open position.

Clubface angles range from a neutral position of zero degrees to both one and two degrees closed or open.

Distance and accuracy is maximized in every loft by varying multiple specifications, including lie angle, MOI, centre of gravity, head size and face depth.

The SQ DYMO STR8-FIT is available in square and a new folded 'round' geometric design with the stability and performance enhancements of UST's Proforce Axiv Core shaft and new 360-degree grip design.

Nike Golf has created an aggressive television, online and in-store teaser campaign to promote DYMO Day and encourage consumers to demo and purchase the SQ DYMO STR8-FIT and its sister club, the SQ DYMO.

To find the nearest DYMO Day, consumers can log on to nikegolf.ca, enter city and postal code and a list of locations nearest to them will appear.
