TORONTO (April 5, 2010)--Nike Golf athlete Anthony Kim overcame injuries in 2009 and a playoff on the weekend to win the PGA Tour's Shell Houston Open.
Kim parred the first extra playoff hole to win his first PGA Tour event since he won twice in 2008.
It was Nike Golf's fourth global tournament win in 2010.
Fellow Nike Golf athlete Charl Schwartzel, who has won twice this year on the European Tour, was T3 for another strong finish on the PGA Tour following his second-place finish in the World Golf Championships-CA Championship. Schwartzel earned his way into this week's Masters with his 2010 play.
Kim and Vaughan Taylor were tied at 12-under 276 after Kim missed a 6-foot par putt in regulation on the water-lined 18th hole for a 2-under 70.
Kim said that two years ago, he may be been thrown off his game by anger after missing the putt in regulation.
"But I just feel calm out there, I feel no sense of urgency," he said. "I'm comfortable with who I am out there. I found my identity."
Kim heads to the Masters this week riding four straight top-25 finishes.
Wielding his Victory Red Tour driver, Kim blasted drives averaging 321.5 yards in the final round, and relied on his VR Blades to put himself in scoring position.
Kim also wore Nike Golf apparel and footwear.
