|
TORONTO (April 12, 2010)--PGA European Tour rookie James Morrison emerged victorious by a single shot against fellow Nike Golf Athlete Oliver Fisher after an exciting head-to-head down the stretch at the Madeira Islands Open BPI- Portugal. Going into the final round as the overnight leader, Morrison was able to hold off the impressive seven-under-par charge of 65 posted by fellow Englishman Fisher by shooting his own two-under-par 70. Using a full bag of Nike Golf equipment, including the new Nike SQ MACHSPEED driver, Nike METHOD putter and Nike ONE Tour D ball, Morrison credited his victory to his second shot on the par-5 18th, which set him up for a birdie and the trophy. He called the downhill lie shot using his new Nike SQ MACHSPEED 15-degree 3-wood "the best shot of my career because it meant the most." This is Nike Golf's fIfth win globally, and fourth on the 2010 PGA European Tour. In other Nike Golf news from the past weekend, Nike athlete Anthony Kim tied the low round of the 2010 Masters Tournament with an exciting closing round of 65 to finish third. Tiger Woods, making his return to the PGA Tour, finished at 11-under-par to tie for fourth. Morrison's Nike Arsenal
