TORONTO (August 9, 2010)--Beginning the final round six strokes back at the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open, Nike Golf athlete Jhonattan Vegas posted a 7-under-par round of 64 to win his first Nationwide Tour event.
Vegas' win catapulted him from 28th to seventh on the Nationwide Tour money list, increasing his chances of obtaining his PGA Tour card in 2011.
Using the Nike VR STR8-FIT Tour driver, Nike VR Blades (3-pw) and the Nike ONE Tour D ball, the Venezuelan made seven birdies in the final round to seal his one-stroke victory. He averaged 305-yard drives and was ranked tied for sixth in greens in regulation. Vegas, a Venezuelan who currently lives in Austin, Texas, also wore head-to-toe Nike Golf apparel and footwear.
