Nike Golf's Michelle Wie wins CN Canadian Women's Open wire-to-wire
TORONTO (August 30, 2010) - Nike Golf athlete Michelle Wie went wire-to-wire with 14 Nike clubs in capturing the CN Canadian Women's Open.  With the win, Nike Golf athletes have captured nine global victories in 2010.

Wie fired a two-under 70 on Sunday at St. Charles Country Club in Winnipeg for a three-stroke victory, her second on the LPGA Tour. She finished 12-under par with a 276 total over four golfers that included fellow Nike Golf athlete Suzann Pettersen, the defending champion.

Wie, 20, fired rounds of 65-69-72-70, which included a hole-in-one on the 11th hole in the first round.

Wie wielded a Nike VR Tour driver to average mammoth drives of 290.38 yards. Wie is No. 1 on the tour this season in distance off the tee, averaging 275.7 yards. With her Nike VR Forged Blades and Nike VR Hybrids, Wie is tied for third in greens in regulation this season on the LPGA Tour with a percentage of .725, while Pettersen leads the tour at .767.

On Sunday, Wie made five birdies with her Nike METHOD Prototype putter, including three in a row on holes 13-15, which helped propel her to the win.

"It feels awesome [to win]," Wie said. "It feels absolutely fantastic. It's been a long time since November and it feels great."

Wie also wore head to toe Nike Golf apparel and footwear.
